Evolving requires growth.
Growth requires change.
Growth resembles the changing of the seasons.
As in summer, there are sunny and light aspects, these can be related to the triumphs of maintaining new patterns and achieving goals. There are seasons of change that result in loss much like the tree’s foliage in the fall, similar to the loss of those that are removed from your path and left in the past. At times it may feel desolate, lonely, and perpetual much like the cold, or bareness of trees in the winter months. Nevertheless, spring is always around the corner, offering a reminder of new revival and abundance encouraging your continuance to forage ahead.
Growth isn’t linear. Highs and lows are a part of the natural progression of life. You may be asking yourself,
How do I truly grow as an individual? How do I create the life I’ve been dreaming of? Or, how can I realistically become the best version of myself?
The answer is simple, start. Today, not tomorrow. Transformation doesn’t occur overnight. The trek up a mountain begins with one singular step in the right direction.
Evolving requires transformation.
A journey of growth starts in the darkness, confined by bad habits and people that do not align with your goals or best interests. To grow one must learn to persist in the discomfort of new habits, and exuviate old habits and circumstances. To grow one must learn to not only survive storms but dance in the rain. To see the glimmers of light in the darkness.
You shouldn’t measure your growth, because growth isn’t linear. Sometimes we even fail to see our growth, so it is important to stop and remain present. Being present helps you center yourself, clear your mind, and not only determine the areas where you wish you could grow more (because let's be real we are a lot hastier to recognize our short-comings than triumphs) but it also helps us pause and recognize how far we’ve come along our journey. Maybe it is the aspects you consider flaws or weaknesses that give you strength. Maybe those pieces of you make up the puzzle of who you are. Maybe those are the aspects that others see as the best parts of you. Maybe it's your vulnerability, an aspect you see as weak but others recognize as bravery.
Sometimes when the world appears as if it is falling apart, it's truly falling into place. The removal of happenstance then makes room for new beginnings. Sometimes when you refuse to leave your comfort zone, the universe forces you out of it.
Transformation is a path journeyed alone. Sometimes when you elevate you grow out of people, places, and versions of you that you once were, but no longer need to remain.
Perception is one of the most powerful aspects of the world. It can completely change not only how the world sees you, but you see the world and in turn, how you show up in the world. “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Your mind and body have an infinite capacity to continuously evolve. The only thing stopping you? The idea in your mind that you can’t.
Evolve or remain.
If you choose to remain you will remain unchanged. The same habits, routines, insecurities, patterns, and experiences. Or you can choose to learn from these patterns and experiences and use them to fuel your growth. Evolving is choosing yourself. Evolving is loving yourself to decide when enough is enough. Set boundaries. Set expectations and do not let anything or anyone be an exception to these boundaries and expectations, or you are the one who will pay the price. You will learn to not only understand but to connect with yourself on a deeper level. You will find people who truly see you for who you are on a soul level. You will no longer feel a need to satisfy someone else’s expectations or perception of you. You will simply become you. You will know more love than you once believed possible and suddenly see that anything is just that, possible. You will find genuine and unconditional happiness. This love and happiness will not come from external factors, it will come from you. Evolve.
